Quindell Orton
Life in Miniature

Quindell Orton is co-director of Anything Is Valid Dance Theatre, a West Australian based company, specialising in improvisation and site-specific work. AIVDT focuses on performances in non-traditional spaces.  The company aims to contribute braveness to the world and to keep breathing culture into places where you would least expect it. Orton’s interest lies in finding new ways, places and spaces to create art, exploring alternate methods to engage and respond to an audience.

While at the Nomadic Village Orton will work on ‘Life in Miniature’ a dance theatre work set and performed in a caravan. Orton will be using the seed idea of Life in Miniature as a basis to create performance that evolves and adapts with each new location and interaction. Prior developments of Life in Miniature have lead to a wealth of choreographed material. Orton will use her time at the Nomadic Village to explore the flexibility and adaptations possible through the employment of improvisation in the work.
